Retired Special Forces operative John Matrix (Schwarzenegger) is informed by Major General Franklin Kirby (Olson) that all the other members of his unit have been killed by unknown mercenaries. Despite being given protection, the mercenaries, whose ranks include Bennett (Wells), a former member of Matrix's team fired for excessive brutality and presumed killed in the preceding assassinations, attack Matrix's secluded mountain home and kill the guards, kidnapping his daughter Jenny (Milano) in the process. When Matrix gives chase, he is also captured.

A mysterious stranger, not involved with the police, also seems to be watching Elise. Elise burns the letter and boards a train.

Alien life forms have spread throughout the U.S.-Mexico border region leading to the quarantine of half of Mexico. The U.S. and Mexican militaries are battling to contain the creatures, with a wall stretching along the American border. The story follows Andrew, an American photojournalist helping his wealthy employer's daughter, Samantha, get back to America. In Mexico, Andrew buys Samantha a ferry ticket to return to America, but he gets drunk the night before they leave, and wakes up to find the tickets are stolen, so they have to travel by land through the infected zone. Their journey takes them across Central America and eventually back into the United States. When they finally make it back, Andrew and Samantha realize that the city they reach is abandoned. After walking along an evacuation route, the two find an abandoned gas station. Andrew calls the police, who say the army is in the area, and will come to their rescue. After a brief encounter with two aliens, Samantha whispers, with tears in her eyes, "I don't want to go home." The army arrives, and the screen fades to black.

Titanic II is a proposed ocean liner, to be built as a replica of the Olympic-class RMS Titanic. The project was announced by Australian billionaire Clive Palmer in April 2012, as the flagship of his cruise company Blue Star Line. The intended launch date is set in 2016 and the ship will set sail from Southampton to New York within the same year.
